Jp Succubus

Swift is associated with speed. And so, as the name suggests, Swiftcover insurance policy vows that you will get your insurance quote within a minute of of enquiry. Swiftcover is an online insurance company. They have a very comprehensive website that offers all and any information about the company. The details included in the Swiftcover website are to the point. They also provide a lot of flexibility in their policies that few other insurance companies may be able to match up to.
So, in effect you can save your time; you only need to save your quote and details, and then company will make arrangements to send you the actual insurance documents using a technology. You can obtain a printout then and there. Thus, the system of Swiftcover insurance cover is a hassle-free one. Their services and policy covers are comparatively cheap, allowing room for great discounts to the customers. This is because; they do not need to avail their operational costs at all. They also have a scheme where they are ready to offer your money back, if you happen to find a cheaper policy within a period of 14 days.
You might be expecting a lot from a company that keeps and maintains, and has access to a wide range of insurance market contacts; most of them which come with AXA Group. Similar to your expectations, Swiftcover is also capable of offering access to the travel insurance market, pet insurance market and breakdown cover. A point to be noted here is that all these services are offered at very competitive prices.
You may be aware of several websites that get things arranged and then start up with a big boom. However, they disappear within months of starting up. However, Swiftcover has been able to transfer their car insurance business model to several other areas and they have been very successful in their venture. These days, there is cut-throat competition among all insurance companies. Yet, as the markets become more and more competitive, Swiftcover has been able to advance one step ahead of the competition, with regards to their services and cost, both of which have been supreme.
It may seem very strange to you, but Swiftcover has already been able to stand up to a comparison very favorably to other major or popular car insurance companies such as the AA, the RAC and More Than. In spite of their low cost approach, they have been able to pay massive dividends also.

A Woman Loses Lizzie

Jp Succubus

Statistics have been released by car insurance provider Swiftcover, highlighting the need for female drivers to look beyond the policies that are advertised directly to them when shopping around for car insurance.
According to the provider's research, the UK's 18.9million women drivers could face car insurance premiums with differences of more than £600 a year. Its research found that a 35-year-old female living in Birmingham driving a Volkswagen Passat with one speeding conviction to their name could be charged as much as £944.45 a year through female car insurance specialist Diamond. The same driver however, could pick up a quote for just £331.76 through Swiftcover itself - a difference of £612.69.
This wasn't a one-off example either. The insurer quoted many similar differences including for a 55-year-old female in Southampton driving a Saab 9-5 who could pick up a premium for just £148.00 through Swiftcover and yet would be charged £246.94 through Sheila's Wheels and £589.55 with Diamond.
Cynics would argue that Swiftcover has hand-picked the examples to show off the savings made through its service. However, there is a clear message for female motorists to shop around - preferably by using a comparison service - to ensure they're getting the cheapest quote available.
It is important to look beyond price too and consider what you're getting for your money. To their credit, the likes of Diamond and Sheila's Wheels offer incentives such as handbag cover, female-friendly repairers and courtesy cars.
Once you've found a policy with the level of cover you need, look to save money where possible by enhancing the vehicle's security, parking in a garage overnight, driving at pre-agreed times and avoiding convictions.

Women Gain a Great Deal On Car Insurance

Jp Succubus

Yet another car insurance provider has decided to offer exclusive policies for female drivers - but do these deals really offer better value?
More Than car insurance has launched women driver's insurance with special features designed for females including priority road assistance, a mobile phone locator, female friendly repairers, child car seat replacement and handbag cover. It is just the latest in a long line of car insurance providers that specifically target females with their policies including Diamond, Ladybird and Sheila's Wheels.
However, research from Swiftcover reveals that these specialist insurers do not necessarily offer females the best deals. Its research shows that 18.9 million women drivers in the UK face price differences on their insurance deals of as much as £600.
For example, a female aged 25 who lives in Milton Keynes and has a Ford Fiesta Style 1244cc with zero years no-claims could get a policy for as little as £273.60 with Swiftcover and yet would pay £512.90 with Diamond. Similarly, a 35-year-old in Birmingham driving a VW Passat would pay £331.76 through Swiftcover compared to £426.37 through Sheila's Wheels.
Women are generally offered more favourable car insurance quotes than men due to their superior driving record with Home Office statistics showing that men are involved in 97 per cent of dangerous driving convictions. However, just because an insurer claims it can offer cheaper quotes by dealing exclusively with females it does not mean that women drivers could not get a cheaper deal elsewhere.
The key is to do everything you can to save including taking advantage of online discounts, paying annually instead of monthly, parking a car in a garage overnight and enhancing security.

Car Insurance and Rock and Roll - How Your Occupation Can Affect Your Premium

Jp Succubus

Iggy Pop's recent foray into the financial services industry (taking the form of a Swiftcover advertising campaign) may have revealed something about the decline of rock and roll's cultural integrity. However it has also highlighted something else, the implications your job can have on your car insurance.
The advert in question involves Mr Pop cavorting around and generally revelling in having insurance with the company. But at the time the advert was originally aired they would not be able to cover him. Why? Because he's a musician.
As a result the ad didn't only cause raise eyebrows among Iggy's legion of fans, the Advertising Standards Authority also had to get involved, forbidding the company from showing it again in the existing format.
But this restriction against musicians is not an unusual one in the insurance industry. Being a musician is one the occupations that's placed fairly high on the insurer's risk scale.
There may not be an obvious connection between occupation and car insurance, but along with post-code, age and gender it is one of the rating factors on the car insurance risk assessment. An insurer typically gauges the risk of a driver in terms of where the car is likely to be parked, what times it is likely to be driven and how the car is likely to be used in regards to the driver's job.
In the case of musicians, they are deemed high-risk as they might have high claims for loss of future earnings if they are injured. Insurers would deem other high-risk occupations to be particularly stressful and involve a lot of time spent on mobile phones or behind the wheel. Premiership Footballers are another example of those who rank highly on the risk scale, since they are constantly in the public eye and could be targeted by rival fans on the way to training matches.
These are not the type of issues that most of us have to deal with on a day-to-day basis. So in what way can we expect our jobs to affect our premiums? The good news is that if any of the following apply to your job, the chances are your premium should be considerably lower than Iggy Pop and Stephen Gerrard's:

1) You have a low stress occupation.
2) The safety of others is a key part of your job and training.
3) Your occupation means you often take public transport.
4) Your job is considered to be very meticulous, which is deemed to affect your driving habits.
At the end of the day most people aren't going to change their job to lower their car insurance, so it's really a case of finding cover that adequately covers your needs and situation. And if you're a musician, like Iggy, finding it tough to get insurance? Well, he's proof that there are alternative ways to earn a living!

Cellular Phone Quotes and Easy Access to

Jp Succubus

Via your mobile phone, more than just receiving or making a call, it's now easier for one to perform a lot of functions. More importantly, the number of things that could be done with a mobile phone is increasing by the day. One of the very latest additions is the access motorists could have to car insurance quotes online even while miles away from home or their computer.
This innovation, courtesy of the UK's fastest growing motor insurer Swiftcover.com, will enable motorists to also be able to compare cars at a second-hand-car-dealer or filling time while travelling.
In the past similar services could be accessed only via such devices as PC or PDA. Apart from the questions of accessibility, it was always not the most convenient means of getting insurance quotes. This new device is, as such, a milestone achievement.
The issue of convenience aside, with the introduction of mobile phone quotes, motorists will also be able to get an accurate quote, based on the driver's claims history and the car registration, even while on the move.
One more interesting thing about the device is that the service is available 24 hours a day, it is easy to use and customers can access the mobile site by either texting 'Swift' to 80231 or by clicking on a special link from their mobile phone provider's mobile home page.
This will take them to a simple form which will ask them for their name, postcode, car registration, date of birth, occupation and years of no claims. They will then get a no-obligation quote in less than 60 seconds after filling in the required information.
Significantly, this saves the time and trouble of having to visit insurance agents in person or waiting to get hold of a PC to be able to get quotes.
At a time when people are increasingly counselled on the importance of comparing quotes and taking time to shop around for the cheapest and, possibly, the best policy that suits one's needs, there is no better time to have this improvement than now.
More so, even for insurers the innovation overrides the need for time-consuming paper work and consultation as everything is made clear and user-friendly.
Commenting on the development, marketing director at swiftcover.com, Tina Shortle argued that anyone intending to spend a lot of money on a new car would need to know much about the car, including how much they would be spending to insure it. And with this service, it means the information will be handy.
With car insurance playing a more important role in helping motorists save costs of motoring, given the rising price of fuel and general maintenance, drivers will be able to decide on how do compare quotes and go for the one that will help in economising their expenses.
Thus, the aim of introducing mobile phone quotes by swiftcover.com could be achieved, which "is to make car insurance as easy, simple and convenient as possible", as explained by Ms Shortle. What is now left is for motorists to make use of the device to their advantage.

Car Insurance Quick Quote Via Your Mobile Phone

Jp Succubus

Renewing car insurance can be a time consuming task. With the market saturated with a huge number of companies offering car insurance products, finding the best deal can mean lengthy searches and endless repeating of your personal information to the various brokers and insurers.
This can be particularly frustrating if you only require a quick quote in anticipation of buying a car. Nowadays many people consider the cost of insurance before purchasing a new vehicle, as it can be significant proportion of the running costs. When out searching for a car, it might be helpful to get a quote as soon as possible in order to be able decide whether or not the car is going to be suitable. Now one company has come up with a solution to help car buyers get an instant quote.
Swiftcover.com, an internet insurance firm has launched a service which allows customers to get a car insurance quote via their mobile phone. In order to the use the service customers need to have a mobile phone with internet access. A link can be added to the phone provider's website to make navigation easier, or a text message can be send which will direct the customer to the site. Once on the site a few questions need to be answered regarding the customer's demographics and the car registration details. The site then will reply with a quote within one minute. This service means that customers can get an insurance quote at any time of day through their phones. This should make life a little easier when out car hunting, especially if deciding between two different vehicles.
It is important to note that the quote provided via phone can only act as a guide, and further data will need to be inputted at a later date in order to get an exact quote. This is because the phone quote only relies on six pieces of data, whereas normally an insurance quote requires a lot more information. But it can act as a starting point for those who need a speedy indication of the insurance cost.
However this service is not entirely new. Swiftcover.com launched a text service similar to the mobile internet service back in 2006. With this service, customers were required to send a text message to the company which would then respond with a series of question. The quick quote would then be based on the answers to these questions. Swiftcover.com is moving with the modern day advances in technology and enabling customers to access quick quotes through a number of methods to suit them. Making life easier for the consumer is an important way of keeping their business. Once a customer has used the service to obtain a quick insurance quote, they might be more inclined to go back to the provider to obtain a full quote and ultimately purchase their insurance. In such a saturated market as the car insurance market is, any innovation which makes it easier for customers to choose the right product and car for them has the potential to be a hit.

Cheapest Secondhand Cars to Insure

Jp Succubus

There are many factors that influence the size of a car insurance premium but few are more important than the vehicle itself. British drivers looking to buy a second hand car over the next year are likely to face a number of budgetary constraints in these tough economic times, so considering all vehicle costs before buying - including tax and insurance - is vital. Now a car insurance provider has revealed its top ten cheapest second hand cars to insure in the UK.
Topping the list is the Smart Pure for which average premiums are just £350.84. Indeed smaller cars with low performance engines dominate the list - the Fiat Seicento, Skoda Fabia, Toyota Aygo, Nissan Micra, Citroen C1, Renault Clio, Suzuki Wagon R, Volkswagen Fox Urban and Peugeot 107 complete the top ten.
Buying a second hand car will usually allow you to earn cheaper car insurance because the value of the vehicle greatly depreciates over the first three years and the cost of a replacement follows suit.
Of course while the type of vehicle you buy is an important consideration, it's also crucial to gather as many car insurance quotes as you can as the differences between premiums from one insurer to another can be astronomic. For example a man aged 32 living in Birmingham with one speeding conviction could pick up a premium on a Volvo V70 T S for as little as £581.95 through swiftcover.com and yet would pay £1,420.91 a year to insure the same car with LV=, according to the research. Therefore it's crucial to shop around.
It's also worth considering other ways to lower your car insurance. For example, installing a car alarm, parking in a garage overnight, paying annually instead of monthly and agreeing to a mileage limit could all help you earn cheap car insurance.

Drivers Urged To Check Motor Insurance Small Print

Jp Succubus

It is important for motorists to be fully aware of the terms and conditions of their motor insurance policies, it has been suggested.
Research carried out by swiftcover reveals that a significant number of British drivers could be unwittingly putting themselves under financial pressure due to a lack of comprehension about what is and what is not covered by their insurance.
In the company's study more than a third of motorists were shown to be unaware of the effects of underrating their mileage in an attempt to reduce insurance costs. Some 25.8 per cent of respondents reported to be unaware whether driving beyond their stated amount of miles would have an impact on their insurance cover, with 16.1 per cent claiming that it would not have an effect. However, it was stated that a failing to contact their supplier upon exceeding their mileage may result in motorists invalidating their cover. As such, consumers were urged to constantly check their mileage and to get in touch with their insurance provider should they notice something is awry or their circumstances change.
Further research showed that more than a fifth of motorists are unaware whether or not they will be covered should they have an accident while smoking or eating at the same time as driving. This figure comes despite just under two-thirds (65 per cent) of respondent stating that they consume while on road, with over one in three choosing to smoke.
The financial services firm pointed out that although eating or smoking while driving is not a criminal offence outright, should they suffer an accident while doing on these things than they could be accused of being negligence. It was purported that motorists' reaction times can be up to 50 per cent slower should they be talking on the phone or having a cigarette or snack. Meanwhile, swiftcover stated the Highway Code recently listed smoking and eating as dangerous distractions when behind the wheel.
Following on from being forced to dip into their own pockets and purses, it may be possible that those drivers with inadequate levels of insurance might find that their ability to manage other demands on their spending. Such areas could well include loan, credit and store cards, utility bills and mortgage or rent repayments.
In addition, the study indicated 29 per cent of drivers think that their policy will automatically cover them should they get behind the wheel of a friend or partner's automobile.
Tina Shortle, spokesperson for swiftcover, said: "While choosing the lowest price car insurance policy is most people's objective, it is also important to know exactly what is and isn't covered. Drivers make a lot of assumptions about their policies, so it's best to read all terms and conditions carefully and to regularly review the terms."
Consumers looking to buy a new car over the coming months might wish to consider taking out a secured loan to finance their purchase. In selecting this type of loan, borrowers may be able to select a top-of-the-range model quickly and effectively, in addition to being left with enough spare cash to help get a comprehensive insurance policy. A secured loan could also be recommended for those wishing to meet the cost of damage to a sailboat. In a study conducted by Saga in April it was shown that hitting an underwater object while on the sea will cost the typical consumer 2,419 pounds. Meanwhile, the average burglary claim stands at 1,820 pounds.

How a Volvo Can Help Save Money on Car Insurance

Jp Succubus

It is universally acknowledged that choosing a Volvo model car can help keep you car insurance rates low - because they have a reputation as one of the safest cars on the road.
And it's not just car insurance that is likely to be cheaper - it looks like Volvo's can help save you money in other areas. The C30 1.6D DRIVe with Start/Stop - which will be available to order next month - is exempt from road tax as it releases 99 g/km of CO2. Now that's sure to keep your wallet looking thick.
Swiftcover-insurance.blogspot.com reports Peter Ewerstrand - spokesman for the manufacturer - expressed that after some hard work the model now has some impressive green credentials.
"We've left absolutely no stone unturned in our determination to reach this target and it's wonderful that we have succeeded," Mr Ewerstrand commented.
The Volvo C30 has an attractive redesign at the front which gives it a distinctly different appearance than the S40 and V50. And it even comes in orange.
"By integrating greater depth into the design language, the front has become more dramatic and expressive. Along with the angled lines of the front bumper, the new headlamps, drawn offset and up, reinforce the impression of speed and sportiness," says Fedde Talsma, exterior chief designer.
But it gets better - its not just car insurance that this Volvo vehicle is helping cut costs with - it could keep saving you money at the pump - it's fuel economy is a mere 74.3 mpg.
In addition the Volvo XC60 s - it's built with City Safety technology - is designed to minimise the risk of low-speed collisions.
So in conclusion, Volvos won't leave a dent in your finances.

How green car insurance that can boost

Jp Succubus

We all want to do our bit for the environment - but could choosing eco-friendly car insurance be an expensive mistake?
Research from a car insurance comparison website shows that eco-friendly car insurance can cost up to 150 per cent more than standard policies suggesting that this may not be the solution for motorists with a green conscience.
It found that annual car insurance for a 2004 Toyota Prius could cost as little as £319.28 through Swiftcover and yet would cost £489.96 through the cheapest 'green' car insurance provider - in this case ibuyeco.co.uk. Indeed the gap between premiums gets even larger with other green insurers - the same driver would pay £522.01 a year with CIS Eco-Insurance and £785.48 a year through The Green Insurance Company.
This isn't a one-off example either. Another green car, the Honda Civic Hybrid, can be insured for as little as £338.27 with Swiftcover, but would cost £770.57 to insure through the Green Insurance Company.
Of course for environmentally conscious drivers, finding the cheapest deal is unlikely to be their chief concern - many would be willing to pay extra to know they are contributing to the environment. Indeed ibuyeco.co.uk and the Green Insurance Company both promise to offset 100 per cent of a vehicle's emissions while CIS Eco-Insurance will offset 20 per cent of a car's emissions by investing in schemes such as reforestation and renewable energy sources.
Nevertheless, with such a staggering difference between the cheapest policies available and the cheapest green insurance providers, eco-friendly drivers may be able to put their money to better use.
For example, these motorists could shop around for the cheapest car insurance deal and then use the money they save to contribute to an eco-friendly charity or environmental project of their own choice.
The key is to use a comparison website to compare car insurance and ensure you're getting not only a cheap car insurance deal but also the level of cover that is right for you. Then you can have peace of mind behind the wheel as well as ensuring you're contributing to a worthwhile cause.

avoidance of high insurance among drivers

Jp Succubus

Recent studies have shown that a significant number of Brits are cutting back on vital financial products such as car insurance, a worrying trend which could leave many in a vulnerable position.
The report by American Express suggested that 48% of respondents are cutting back on spending when it comes to important services including health insurance in order to save money. But the situation has not been made any easier as fresh revelations suggested that UK drivers were unknowingly paying an annual sum of £500 million in excess to cover those driving without insurance.
Many motorists are now questioning why they should be forced to pay for those driving illegally although insurance providers have been quick to point out the relationship between additional cost and the risk factor involved with many insurers saying that there is a likelihood of more drivers having to claim off their own insurance if the other party is uninsured.
However, a significant number of motorists in urban areas are reportedly considering cancelling their car insurance while still driving on UK roads mainly because the maximum fine for drivers caught without insurance is £250. In recent months, insurance has been saturated with eco-friendly car insurance deals which many motorists believe to be cheaper, but according to findings by a consumer website, it costs 105% more than regular car insurance.
Green car drivers have been credited for being environmentally friendly because of their decision to go green and according to claims, they could be left with extra cash to spare. Industry sources however, say that going green may not necessarily offer the financial incentives you can enjoy if a motorist chooses to drive a more fuel efficient vehicle. A good example is the quotes for the Honda Civic Hybrid which starts from just £342 with Swiftcover, to £389 with CIS (the cheapest green car insurers in the market) and a whopping £701 from Green Insurance.
But according to the American Express study, 24% will skimp on travel insurance even when they are searching for a holiday while 5% said they would stop paying monthly installments for home or car insurance policies. The current economic turmoil also means that life is increasingly looking expensive but the concern among industry experts is that this style of budgeting will most certainly leave the 48% of Brits who are cutting back on the policies very vulnerable.
At the same time, statistics show that drivers are not spared higher premiums in high crime areas and according to figures, motorists in Wales are ranked sixth out of ten worst areas for insurance evasion. Perhaps what is even more alarming is the disclosure by Motor Insurance Bureau (MIB) who claimed that over 350,000 uninsured vehicles have been taken off the road and 40% of them crushed or disposed of.
Additionally, the government and insurance industry will soon be announcing the timetable for the introduction of Continuous Insurance Enforcement in the coming months after a study showed that that there are currently around two million uninsured vehicles on the UK's roads.

Keep Your Pet Healthy With Pet Insurance

Jp Succubus

Swiftcover insurance -Pets are a very important aspect of our lives, and when something happens to the family dog, it can be scary. Whether it's your cat's first seizure, surgery, or accident, it's going to cost you in veterinary bills just for the trip to the vet alone. A good option to consider is purchasing Pet Insurance when you bring home your new pet.
Pet Insurance is like buying insurance for yourself- you may or may not need it, but you'll still have to pay the fees on the chance that you will need it.
There are many different brands and companies who offer Pet Insurance, so it can be hard to make the decision as to which brand to buy insurance from and which plan you want to purchase. No matter the brand, you will find that there are different plans that cover different aspects of vet bills that your pet will have at some point in time, whether it be regular vaccinations, a spay/neuter surgery, blood work, cancer treatment, hit by a car, medications, and more.
Typically, the more the plan covers, the more you will pay, but each Pet Insurance company will offer something different.
Direct Line Insurance offers a free quote so that you can pick and play with the different plans and riders. They will even give you a discount if you add multiple pets to the plan.
Tesco Insurance also offers a free online quote, but they also offer an online discount, which is great if you plan on adding as many riders and plans that you can. Some people have had sickly pets in the past, and want to make sure they're covered for their next pet.
Petplan, ASPCA, Swiftcover, and Pet Assure all offer some sort of cheap Pet Insurance plan that will help you on yearly vaccinations, reimbursement on surgeries, medications, and different treatments, all depending on what plans and riders you choose.
Pet Insurance can be very important for you budget, and it can potentially save your pet's life. If you couldn't normally afford treatment after your rabbits got loose and hit by a car, vip pet insurance policies can help reimburse you the costs, saving your rabbit's life. It's important to at least consider buying an insurance plan for your pet just in-case of that unexpected accident.

Mobile Car Insurance Service Launched

Jp Succubus

How quickly do you need to grab a car insurance quote? Well now you don't even have to wait for your laptop or PC to load up, thanks to the launch of a new mobile car insurance service.
Swiftcover, which has already been declared the cheapest car insurer provider in the UK according to a comparison website, has launched a service that allows drivers to pick up quotes through their mobile internet connection. By sending a text message to the provider's number, and entering straightforward details including your name, postcode, date of birth, car registration and claims history, you will receive a quote within 60 seconds.
The advantage of this service is that it can save time, particularly when you need a quote in a hurry - such as if you're at a dealership negotiating a tie-in car insurance product with a dealer.
At the moment, Swiftcover has the distinction of being the only 100 percent online car insurance provider in the UK, which means it can save money on call centres and paper billing and pass these savings on to consumers through cheaper quotes.
However, Swiftcover is not alone in providing cheap car insurance policies. For example, Kwik-Fit car insurance tied with Swiftcover as the cheapest provider overall in a recent survey by a comparison website. The level of cover offered may also be basic, so it's important to search the market thoroughly to ensure you're getting a policy for your needs - for example, does it offer a courtesy car, breakdown cover, or repairs at a garage of your choice?
Though the service by Swiftcover is to be welcomed as an innovation, customers are better off shopping around.

Britain's first motor insurance

Jp Succubus

For the first time in the UK, well certainly the first time I've heard this, there is a motor insurance company offering new customers the chance to cap their motor insurance premium for the next year so it's the same as they pay the first year.
Funny enough my car insurance is up for renewal in March and I've been sent an email from my current insurer. I've got 5 years no claims discount and I'm 31, I drive a 7 year old , 1.9 Diesel car and my renewal price Is £281.00, not bad I thought...
I decided to try a comparison web site and after completing my details I found a few quotes around £200, so I could in theory save around £80. The problem is can I really be bothered to go through the hassle of changing everything to a new insurer just to save myself less than £8 per month?! I suppose this is what insurers rely on; customer apathy...The thing for me is that I've got enough to do without having the hassle, and to be honest complete boredom, of changing car insurance!
With my current insurer everything renews automatically, I don't have to do anything, apart from read the emails they send me. On the other hand a friend has just said that he'd never deal with them again because they were awful when his car was written off...I guess we all just hoping that we never have to deal with that situation.
I think I'll get a few different quotes from other comparison sites, maybe a few insurance specialist sites. If I can't save a decent amount then I'll just leave my policy with Swiftcover insurance, after all insurance can only get so cheap they're not going to give it away!

Winter Months Are Worst For Car Insurance Claims

Jp Succubus

As the nights get darker and the clocks go back, swiftcover insurance more people are claiming on their car insurance. It seems that September, October and November are the worst months for any crime-related car insurance claims.
Apparently, a whopping 10.4% of all car insurance claims occur in October as drivers get used to driving in the dark. It seems that the last few months in the year prove to be the most expensive for car insurance companies and are proving stressful for drivers - 30 % of all claims are made during this time.
Grant Bather, spokesman at Virgin Money, echoes this point ""With the seasons changing, nights drawing in and driving conditions becoming hazardous, motorists should pay extra attention when driving and should make sure that they are equipped should they have an accident or breakdown."
And if coping with driving in the dark isn't enough, drivers need to be aware of more stolen vehicles, theft of possessions within the car and even vandalism of your motor. It looks like these longer nights have increased opportunity for criminal activity under the cover of darkness.
Of a poll of 1000 customers conducted by car insurance company Swinton, 28% said they are more worried about their cars during the autumn months but only 7% said they take extra precautions during this time.
For those who do wish to take further precautions here is the following advice:
Never leave valuables on display in a car when left unattended Store your car in a secure garage where possible Fit a certified alarm and immobilizer to your car Try to park in a well lit area and always lock the door Steve Chelton, insurer development manager at Swinton car insurance said: "Motorists must take extra precautions during the long nights of the autumn months. Being a victim of car crime can be very distressing and by following simple precautions it may deter thieves from identifying your car as their next target."

Who Offers the Cheapest Car Insurance?

Jp Succubus

The car insurance market is arguably at its most competitive point in history with the emergence of a cluster of comparison websites driving premiums down and forcing direct competition between insurers.
Some comparison tools compare quotes from more than 60 car insurance providers with one search. However, with so many to choose from, which provider comes out the cheapest?
According to new statistics from a comparison website, Swiftcover and Kwik-Fit are the most consistently competitive insurers with average premiums of just under £277. This marks a huge leap up the table for Kwik-Fit which finished twelfth last year in the analysis of quotes - Swiftcover meanwhile has maintained its position at the top of the rankings.
This increased competition offers a rare piece of good news for motorists reeling from ever-rising petrol prices. The fact that Kwik-Fit and Swiftcover lead the way is reflective of the importance of online shopping. Smaller online insurers can be more competitive with their pricing thanks largely to their lower overheads.
However, if you're not happy putting your faith in a lesser known insurer you should still shop around - the likes of the RAC and Admiral also feature in the top five, while Endsleigh is this year's highest mover leaping from 47th place to sixth with an average quote of £297.58.
